BRAND PARTNERSHIP PROPOSAL

OVERVIEW:

I love this quote because - to me - it perfectly summarizes the value that exists when brands and influencers collaborate:

"Research shows that consumers overwhelmingly trust influencers and their recommendations. This develops because people typically follow influencers over a long period of time and come to feel that an influencer is almost like a friend. This also results in consumers forgetting that influencers are paid to sell the products — whether overtly included or not — that they feature in their content,"
explained Colin Campbell, associate professor of marketing at the University of San Diego's Knauss School of Business and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Advertising Research.

I want to produce a documentary-style video that tells the story of how mO2 delivered tremendous value to Noah Witchell - the 3D artist who creates the LED screen content for television shows like The Masked Singer.

OPTION 1 | BAREBONES

In this video I’ll tackle production all on my own with a vlog-style approach to telling the story of how mO2 enabled Noah Witchell to deliver a high quality piece of screen content for a major network show under a very tight deadline. He had literally gotten to the point where he was going to tell his producer that what they needed couldn’t be done, and then he found mO2 from MotionVFX and it saved the day. He was able to create a subway tunnel and subway car with mO2 and deliver the content that the designers of the show had hoped for.

There may be some “legal stuff” we have to navigate with this in the sense that we may not be able to mention the show by name or show the exact content Noah created, but Noah can replicate what he did using the software during the vlog and explain to the viewers why this expensive plug-in is incredibly valuable to him and a must-have tool in his toolbox.

So what does a vlog mean from a technical standpoint?

Shot in 1080p on my EOS R. No lighting other than what’s in Noah’s studio. On-camera shotgun microphone for audio. Photography zoom lenses.

OPTION 2 | VLOG+

Same as option 1 as far as the content goes - Short & Sweet - but I’ll hire an extra hand to help shoot and light the video. This person will monitor audio and provide wireless lav mics for me and Noah so we can ensure the highest quality audio. I’ll bring high-powered LED light so we can fill the room with some light so we don’t have to worry about mixed lighting, cranking the ISO to get exposure (and therefore introducing a lot of noise into the image).

I’ll up the video quality from 8-bit 1080p to 10-bit 4K using an external recorder, and we’ll get some high quality hero shots of Noah’s work station with mO2 in action.

So the core content of this video will be similar to Option 1 but the quality of the image and audio will be much better.

OPTION 3 | EPIC DOC

For this option, the video’s going to feel like a short documentary. We’ll go a bit more in-depth with Noah on his work, the importance of 3D animation to screen content artists like himself, we’ll explain a bit more what a screen content creator is and show examples from shows and concerts (if possible without legal concerns). We’ll really immerse the viewer in Noah’s world and then talk about what he’s up against on a gig and how having tools like Cinema4D, After Effects, & Blender are important - but even more than that having a plug-in for Final Cut Pro like mO2 makes even more possible for the work.

Since this will feel more like a documentary, I want to hire two crew people to help with audio, lighting, and the camera. Instead of shooting on my EOS R, we’ll shoot on my Canon C300 MkII cinema camera in 10-bit 4K with my cinema lenses. The crew will make sure we get great audio, quality lighting, and the image will be improved using cinema prime lenses over photo zooms.

It’ll be one part handheld documentary, one part cinematic with dolly shots of Noah doing his thing, his work station, and of course mO2 in action.
